Roblox gift cards: redeem them the right way
A Roblox gift card takes a minute to redeem, if you know two things: it only works in a browser, and most cards give Credit, not Robux. Here’s the whole process, plus the scams that target gift cards.
How to redeem a Roblox gift card
Use a web browser
Gift cards are redeemed on the website, not in the Roblox app or on a console (Samsung Galaxy phones are the exception).
Go to roblox.com/redeem
Sign in to the account that should get the value. Double-check it: the card goes to whichever account is signed in.
Enter the PIN
Scratch off the back of the card carefully and type the code. Click Redeem.
Spend the Credit
Most cards add Roblox Credit. Turn it into Robux or a Roblox Plus subscription on the same page.
Credit or Robux: what you get
Most Roblox gift cards don’t add Robux straight away. They add Roblox Credit, an amount of money that sits on your account until you spend it. On the redeem page you pick what it becomes: a Robux package or a Roblox Plus subscription. Credit can only be spent in a web browser, not inside the apps.
Two kinds of cards work differently. Roblox says Amazon gift cards and Party Pack gift cards add Robux directly, so there is no Credit to convert. If a small amount of Credit is left after buying a package, the Convert Credit to Robux button turns the rest into Robux.
Two more rules: a card is redeemed in full, never in parts, and the value lands on the account you are signed in to. Roblox gift cards don’t expire, so there is no rush to spend Credit you don’t need yet.
The code doesn’t work
Look for mixed-up characters
Letters and numbers are easy to confuse: 0 and O, 5 and S, 1 and I. Try the other one.
Check the account
Make sure you are signed in to the account you meant, and that the card wasn’t already redeemed there.
Keep the receipt
If it still fails, Roblox Support asks for the PIN, the serial number, where you bought it and a photo of the receipt.
Gift card scams to avoid
Gift card “generators”
Sites and videos that promise working codes for free. Real codes only come from cards someone paid for. Codes for free Robux don’t exist.
“Send me the code and I’ll double it”
Someone in a game, on Discord or on social media offers to add Robux if you share your code first. Once you send it, they redeem it themselves.
Pay-with-gift-card requests
Nobody legit asks to be paid in gift cards: not Roblox, not a “moderator”, not a seller of limiteds. A gift card can’t be traced or refunded once it is redeemed.
Cheap cards from resellers
A code sold far below face value, or a card with a scratched-off PIN, may already be used or paid for with someone else’s card. Buy from Roblox or a store you trust.
